French wine industry in turmoil

The French government recently doubled its emergency aid for wine producers to E 140 million, states a write-up in Decanter.

In a related event, members of a shadowy group of extremists French wine producers knonw as the Comite Regional d’Action (Crav) hijacked a Spanish wine tanker and emptied out 30,000 bottles worth of Spanish wine in the South of France. They were protesting a local wine dealer’s decision to purchase the cheaper Spanish wine.
