Which Wine to drink? Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz

Jacob’s Creek is a behemoth — Australia’s largest wine brand, well-known in India and around the world — with 160 years of winemaking expertise. It all started in 1840, when William Jacob settled on a piece of land next to an unnamed creek, which eventually acquired his name. The small creek is still flowing and runs through the heart of the Barossa Valley in South Australia — Jacob Creek’s signature wine region and brand home. The first vineyard was planted here in 1847 by Johann Gramp who wanted to create wines that reflected the true character of the grapes and the land. Jacob’s Creek comes from a great tradition of winemaking and has been in the Barossa for over a century. Their classic range, fruity and approachable has had a very popular run in India. However, Jacob’s Creek produces a wide range of wines and new brands are coming into the country. One of them is the Double Barrel Shiraz, which is finished in aged Scotch whisky barrels to provide additional layers of complexity for a richer, deeper, and smoother taste. The wine has blackberry and ripe plum flavours with integrated tannins and a lovely soft finish.
