UB Group starts wine production at Baramati Vineyard

Four Seasons Wines Ltd. (FSWL) from the UB Group has started production and distribution of five varieties of wines from the Baramati Vineyard. The annual production target is 7 lakh cases. The company also produces Zinzi which was launched last year and has sold 10,000 cases to date. The wine will now enter Delhi, Karnataka and Kerala in the next few months. ubgroupnew.jpg

FSWL variants are priced between Rs 400 and Rs 550 per litre.
The company plans to launch a range of more expensive wines by May 2009 priced at Rs 600-700 per litre. The wine tourism resort planned at the FSWL vineyard in Baramati is expected to be ready by March 2009. The resort will have 14 high-end suites, wine tasting rooms and a spa.
The UB Group has been in talks with hotel chains belonging to the Taj Group and ITC Welcom Group of Hotels for starting the resort. The total Indian wine production currently is 13 million bottles. UB is looking at a 35% market share.
