India’s first temperature-controlled wine warehouse!

wsi warehouse.jpgThis Friday, The Wine Society of India will throw open the doors to its Wine Warehouse, the first of its kind in India. Inspired by the popular warehouses set up by Majestic Wines across the UK (now numbering 150), this temperature-controlled warehouse will showcase wine chosen by a panel of experts, chaired by Steven Spurrier.

Stocks will be replenished constantly, ensuring fresh wine in great condition, all the time. Most of the several dozen labels stocked at the warehouse are exclusive to the warehouse, and are unavailable elsewhere. These include fine wine from great producers across the world, hard-to-find labels from boutique wineries, and some of India’s crown jewels as well.
Customers will be able to browse through different sections (Old World, New World, Fine Wine) and handle bottles, books and wine accessories, while getting a behind-the-scenes peek at how a wine storage facility works. Every fortnight (beginning this Friday), educational tastings will be conducted here, to familiarize customers with different wine styles, from around the world.
The Grand Opening will include a free sampling of several wines from their Summer Selection, and a free gift to those who make a purchase (of three bottles or more) on the night.
