Coravin, which first appeared on the wine scene in 2013 in the US with its Model Eight Wine System, allowed wine drinkers to pour wine via a special needle without removing the cork. Over time, it has launched several other versions including Coravin Model 2 that has a 20% faster wine-dispensing needle, and the Model Two Elite in a red, silver and gold colour with chrome finish, which was meant for people serious about wine and is the best-in-class tool that protects your wine from oxidation, costing approximately $300.

Now, Model One priced at £199 ($250), is aimed at millennial wine drinkers. With “young and design-friendly” features, it boasts a wine needle that is gentle on your cork and pours wine both quickly and smoothly. Apart from this, the system has an “easy-to-squeeze clamp that fits around the bottle neck, ensuring a secure hold and effortless pour”, to quote the news report. According to Maarten Dekker, general manager of Coravin Europe BV, “Coravin can give you the freedom to drink what you want, when you want – without compromise and without waste.”
