Showcasing the finest of French wines, Sopexa- the French Marketing and Promotion Board for French Food & Beverages and the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi brought this season yet another spirited evening by officially lanching ‘Try More, French Wines….Now, by the glass’ at Longchamp on 15 November 2006.


Showcasing the finest of French wines, Sopexa- the French Marketing and Promotion Board for French Food & Beverages and the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi brought this season yet another spirited evening by officially lanching ‘Try More, French Wines….Now, by the glass’ at Longchamp on 15 November 2006.
This was held in the finest restaurants in Delhi including Rick’s, the House of Ming, Haveli and Machan (the Taj Mahal Hotel), Chutney, Patio, Tusker’s (The Metropolitan Hotel Nikko), Spirit (in CP), Aura, PickWick, Dhaba, Jade (Claridges), Kafe Fontana, Masala Art, Tea House of the August Moon (Taj Palace Hotel). Two French sommeliers, Mr Thomas Lamude and Ms Daniele Raulet Reynaud were in India for the duration of the program. They presented at one restaurant every day during lunch to guide guests through the special wine list by the glass and help them choose the right wine with the cuisine on offer.
The sommeliers, Thomas Lamude and Daniele Raulet Reynaud interacted with the guests proposing French wines to complement the food order. The glass presented a range of about 12 wines, representative of all regions of France. Some participating restaurants also offered special cheese platters, which complemented the outlets cuisine to widen the French pitch to enhance the palate of guests for this Tour de France.
Some of the French wines on offer were Pouilly Fume, Beaujolais, Champagne, Cotes du Rhone, Gewurztraminer, VDP d’OC and many more. A special Wine Trolley designed for this program was taken to each table for customers to learn and taste various wines by the glass.
