Think summer wine and you can hear Nancy Sinatra crooning about strawberries, cherries and angel’s kiss in spring. “My summer wine is really made from all these things,” she sang. Well this time, think of summer wine and Nancy Sinatra while sipping Fratelli’s newest creation – a 100% Shiraz Rose.
Piero Masi, the creator, has crafted this Shiraz Rose from grapes sourced entirely from the Fratelli owned vineyards in Akluj near Pune. The gold-pink of the wine glistens through the transparent bottle. On drinking, the berry aromas such as strawberries, cherries and plum meet the flavours on the palate. The finish is clean and the acidity well balanced.
Pick up a bottle for Rs 530 in Mumbai and Rs 550 in Delhi. Keep it chilled and enjoy at temperatures between 8 to 12°C. It is a good aperitif wine and also pairs well with chicken and cheese, roasted nuts and fruits.
“We at Fratelli are extremely passionate about our wines and are trying to create a culture of excellence around Indian wines. As such, we are extremely proud to present the Shiraz Rosé, which is one of the finest to come out of our vineyards. I am certain Indian audiences will appreciate this high-quality wine,” said Kapil Sekhri, Co-Promoter and Director, Fratelli Wines.
This commitment to quality is evident from the awards collected by different Fratelli wines – the Chardonnay 2011 came out on top at Sommelier India’s Great Indian Wine Tasting and was commended at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2012 and the International Wine Challenge for 2012; the Sauvignon Blanc 2011 and the Chenin Blanc 2011 were also commended at the International Wine Challenge.
