Story in the bottle

Wine is more than just liquid in the bottle. It carries within it the strength and story of the terroir, the passion and love of the winemaker and the many untold tales of its journey from the vineyard to the bottle.

“It is our endeavour to present some of these stories to wine lovers”, said the two wine professionals Rojita Tiwari, wine journalist and  Founder of Drinks & Destinations and Gargi Kothari, Wine Geek & Founder of Magic Cellars who have come together and launched a unique wine and dine experience called STORY IN A BOTTLE.

The first dinner in the series of events to come was held at one of Mumbai’s finest European restaurants, Le Cirque at The Leela Mumbai recently.  Both the wine experts shared stories with the guests through 7 handpicked bottles from their travels to wine regions in Italy, Greece, and Australia. These wines were paired with a 5-course meal prepared by Chef Lorenzo at Le Cirque.

The wines served at the dinner were a sparkling wine from the winery of the Romeo Juliet Castle in Veneto region and a prosecco from Italy followed by the wines from indigenous grape varieties from Greece, Malagousia and Xinomavro, an Australian Chardonnay and a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Nacional.Ending the night with a rare vin santo bottle from Montalcino in Tuscany. Rojita & Gargi talked about the wines, the terroir and the stories of these estates over the intimate sit down dinner for 8 guests.
