If you love rosés, this one is for you. The Sommelier India Tasting Panel is tasting a selection of rosé wines available in India. If you are curious about where the best rosé wines come from and how they are made, be sure to get the next issue of SI when it’s published. (Issue 1, February-March 2012).
The wines being tasted include Bava Rosato Monferrato Ciaret DOC from Piedmont, Italy; Terre di Talamo Piano Piano IGT Toscana, a Sangiovese and Cabernet blend, also from Italy, but from the Maremma region in Tuscany; a Mateus Rosé from Portugal and a Torres Decasta Rosé from Spain. Australia will be represented by Jacob’s Creek and there will also be a surprise Indian rosé.
All these wines are available in India at prices ranging from Rs 1,100 to Rs 2,500 (ex-Delhi). If you want to stock up on rosé wines, watch this space for the SITP’s recommendations.
