Nilaya wines launched by Diageo India

After launching brands like Blossom Hill, Barton and Guestier and Piat d’Or earlier in India, Diageo has made its entry into the Indian wine segment with the launch of Nilaya, its first domestic wine.

UK-based Diageo had recently tied-up with retail giants Reliance Fresh and Shoprite Hyper to distribute its wines portfolio in cities like Mumbai and Pune. It is also planning a tie-up with the Aditya Birla-promoted retail venture ‘More’ to sell its wines across the country.

Nilaya is produced from the wineries in Nashik. They produce a range of wines and are known for their consistent quality and superlative performance in winemaking.
Available in four varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz Rose and Shiraz Cabernet, Nilaya’s different varietals are priced between Rs 395 – Rs 500.
Nilaya is positioned as a product that moves away from the wine’s conventional imagery of exclusivity and sophistication.

  1. Tried the wines out in Mumbai – must confess they were very bad… Havent tried their Rose as yet. Chenin Blanc was not even available since they have already widrawn the product from the market because of some complains from customers returning the bottles.
