The Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai and All Things Nice celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Cloudy Bay at a wine dinner recently, made all the more special by the presence of Cloudy Bay’s senior winemaker, Tim Heath. Cloudy Bay was founded in 1985 by David Hohnen in the Marlborough region of New Zealand’s South Island, bordering
the bay of the same name discovered by Captain James Cook in 1770. Hohnen identified the potential of the region and captured its essence by deciding to develop Sauvignon Blanc, producing wines that have become a benchmark for quality. In 1990 the winery joined the Moët Hennessy portfolio of estates outside France managed by Estates & Wines. The ineffable quality of Cloudy Bay wines was unmistakable paired with a splendid five-course dinner prepared by the Four Seasons chef, Anshuman Bali. Sommelier India unfortunately missed the dinner but there were many others who enjoyed the evening.
