The group included Gina Gallo, award winning winemaker and grand-daughter of Julio Gallo, Vanya Cullen, illustrious wine-maker from Margaret River, John Forrest of the Forest Estate Winery in New Zealand, Roberto Bava of Bava Winery, Italy, John Quarisa owner and winemaker, Quarasia, Australia, and Mike Ratcliffe, Managing Director, Warick Estate, South Africa.

The group visited several Nasik vineyards and wineries including Nine Hills, Sula Vineyards and Chateau D’Ori. They also met the winery owners and winemakers of the 40 different wines tasted earlier in the day at a dinner hosted by Samant on November 8 at which select media and representatives of the hospitality world were also present. The dinner was preceded by an informal panel discussion about the potential of the Indian wine industry at the new Sula open-air amphitheatre, followed by an interesting question and answer session.
