Stating that wines of Charosa Vineyards are made from the finest estate grown grapes at Charosa, near Nashik, the wine capital of India, Parag Kamat, Chief Operating Officer, Charosa Wineries Ltd, (pictured, left) said he was very pleased to introduce the winery and its offering to wine lovers in Pune, writes Brinda Gill of SI.
Charosa wines were launched at Terttulia, a popular restaurant with an easy young vibe located at Pune’s very happening Koregaon Park neighbourhood. A range of Charosa wines were served with the delicious fare that the restaurant is famous for. Kamat along with Manager – Training & Corporate Sales, Clive Castelino, and Winemaker, Ashok Patil, shared information about the winery and its wines.
The wines served were Charosa Reserve Tempranillo, Charosa Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Charosa Selections Sauvignon Blanc, Charosa Selections Shiraz, Charosa Selections Viognier, Charosa Pleasures Sauvignon Blanc and Charosa Pleasures Cabernet Shiraz.
The winery is the latest entrant in the wine industry and Kamat was most confident of its success as he reiterated the painstaking effort that had been taken from the growing of the vines and vineyard management through the production process and the artistic labels. This effort is manifest in the goblet, in the quality of the wines, their fruity aromas, smoothness, balance and good finish.
“We take immense effort to ensure the wine is treated with utmost care. Open tank fermentation is being done for red wines. Further, the use of super speciality equipment, such as the inert gas press, ensures that only the best quality juice is used for the wine making process,” Patil added.
“The wine industry is growing faster than any other alcoholic beverage in India. Keeping this in mind, our wines cater to both the premium and semi-premium segment. We are proud to present our artfully crafted labour of love, which is at par with the best internationally,” said Kamat.
The Reserve Series is priced at Rs 1,500; Selections Series is at Rs 800 for the reds and Rs. 750 for the whites; and the Pleasures Series is Rs 550 for the reds and Rs 500 for the whites.
