With the hospitality sector still reeling under the sudden drop in hotel bookings and the inevitable repercussions on trade and social life because of the terrorist attacks, Vinitaly India has been postponed. VeronaFiere decided on the postponement of the Vinitaly World Tour stage which was scheduled to take place on January 14th-15th leading up to IFOWS. IFOWS is still going ahead as planned.

| Brindco, importers of fine wine and spirits, along with well known Italian wine producer, Allegrini recently hosted a small and intimate tasting at the restaurant Manré in New Delhi's Metropolitan Mall. The wines included some of the most awarded wines, including Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico DOC 2004, which received 93 points by the Wine Spectator in July 2008. The Pune Wine Tasting Festival will be taking place between December 13th and 14th. It'll include wine appreciation sessions, cooking with wine classes, a blind tasting competition and gourmet finger food. Twelve wineries are participating and there will be over fifty wines to taste. Entrance fee is only Rs.250 if you sign up before November 30th. More information is available here.
