Wine's the way to go, this Holi, Try Nine Hills

ninehillsprint3.jpgDare to be different this Holi. Instead of indulging in hangover inducing hard liquor binges, go the fine way with wine. Adopt a healthier attitude to drinking and avoid using bhang with its unpleasant aftermath, pairing wine with all your favourite Holi foods. Here are some interesting matches to try with Seagram's Nine Hills wine.

Drink Nine Hills Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc with your pakoras and samosas, aloo tikkis and papdi chaats. To match the sinful sweets that are a must at any Holi party pick a bottle of Nine Hills Viognier or Rosé. These lovely wines will go very well with ladoos, jalebis, chum-chums and syrupy malpuas. Gujiyas are best paired with the Nine Hills Chenin Blanc.

The more substantial chhole bhature pair well with a Nine Hills Cabernet Sauvignon while aloo kachori matches a Nine Hills Chenin Blanc or Viognier. For the non-vegetarians, a good meat kofta curry will go down very well with a Nine Hills Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon.

So when you are out picking up gulal don't forget to stock up on these award winning wines. If you live in Delhi or Gurgaon, you can pick up one of the bottles from the core range for Rs 550 while a Reserve will set you back by Rs 900. In Bangalore, the core range costs Rs 650 a bottle and in Kolkata all the core varietals are for Rs 650 a bottle except Chenin which is fifty rupees less. The Nine Hills Reserves cost Rs 850 a bottle in Kolkata.

Nine Hills wines come from a beautiful vineyard in Nashik - the name comes from the nine hills surrounding the wine estate. Nine Hills has a range of award winning wines that include Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Shiraz Rosé. Seagram's Nine Hills has three whites, a Shiraz Rosé, two reds and two reserve red wines. The range of whites includes two zesty whites (Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc) and a complex and aromatic Viognier which has recently been launched in some markets. The collection of soave reds includes Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as the two Reserve wines which have been aged in oak - Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Reserve Shiraz.
