Book Your Ticket for Bordeaux - Vinexpo 2013 is here
Here's another reason to visit Bordeaux this summer. Vinexpo 2013 is taking place in June and the time to book your holiday - or business trip - is now. Vinexpo, the biggest wine event that comes round once in two years, is a big draw for both wine lovers and wine professionals. Set in Bordeaux, Vinexpo offers the opportunity of meeting wine professionals from more than 150 nationalities at one venue.
The organisers are expecting up to 50,000 wine and spirits professionals to converge to converge at this important event in the international wine calendar. The exhibition is booked solid. While 40 per cent of the exhibitors are international, 60 per cent are French.
You will find world-class names like Castel Frères and Champagne Lanson, Domaine du Tariquet, Gérard Bertrand, Marqués de Risqual, Osborne, Kriter and Bernard Magrez Vignobles, to cite but a few.
Apart from the individual producers, major wine producing countries have also taken exhibition space. You will be able to visit the national pavilions of Germany, the U.S., Chile, Italy, Spain, South Africa and, for the first time, Mexico. More than 50 countries will be represented at Vinexpo 2013.
Regular visitors to Vinexpo can look forward to the return of Club du Lac. This is a lovely setting, located in the middle of a lake, where professionals can meet. Air-conditioned pavilions have been set up along with private gardens and patios overlooking the lake to ensure that talking business becomes as enjoyable at the wines on display.
As for tastings, Vinexpo 2013 has set aside new areas at the Convention Centre and the three exhibition halls for this very important aspect of the wine trade. You can already look forward to tastings by Grands Crus de Bourgogne, "L'expression des vignerons bio", Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux,Master classes by Viña Concha y Toro on "Don Melcha, a world class Cabernet" and Alsace wines while a presentation of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore appellation and many other events are likely to be firmed up.
