IGT Cavalli Tenuta Degli Dei 2009 available on tap

Cavalli Enomatic.jpgThe official release of IGT Cavalli Tenuta Degli Dei 2009 coincides with the debut of the ENOMATIC wine system decorated and designed by Roberto Cavalli and his son Tommaso. The ENOMATIC wine system was presented at a tasting event at the historic wine shop, N'Ombra de Vin in Milan, on December 5. Tomasso's IGT Toscana Tenuta Degli Dei wines can now be tasted on tap from this elegant Enomatic dispenser.

Wine lovers who visit the shop can sample all four wines at the touch of a button for the cost of a €12 card. The wines available are Cavalli Tenuta Degli Dei 2007, 2008 and 2009 (cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc) and Reins 2010, a young and velvety Merlot from Panzano.

The Cavalli family has owned their wine estate, Tenuta Degli Dei since the early 70s, and father and son have devoted 30 years of intensive work on it. The bond between Tommaso and his land is rooted in true passion. The estate is located in the village of San Leolino, near Panzano in Chianti, and the territory's characteristics make it equally ideal for horse-breeding.

The vineyards have been planted in the Conca d'Oro valley, which is very suitable for growing grapes thanks to its soil and exposure to sunlight. Tenuta Degli Dei embodies the Cavalli family's lifelong commitment to farming, winemaking and horse-breeding.

Brinda Gill met Tommaso Cavalli during his visit to Pune. See Sommelier India Issue 2, April-May 2011 for the story.

Cavalli Wines are distributed in India by Aspri Wines and Spirits
