Bangalore Wine Club Dinner at Blue Ginger
Bangalore Wine Club members enjoyed a wine dinner with a difference on Saturday, 20 August when they sampled a 4-course Vietnamese dinner called the French Connection at Blue Ginger at the Taj West End, while receiving an understanding about how wine funds function, and the possible joys of investing in something they love - special wines reports Ruma Singh.
The talk came from Winetage proprietor Meenu Kohli, who introduced the concept before the guests embarked on a top drawer dinner accompanied by some very fine wines. As Winetage primarily invests in First Growth wines from Bordeaux, the wines themselves had members thrilled.
The evening began with chilled Hungarian Tokaj Hétszőlő 2010 served with the hors d'oeuvres and declared universally as absolutely splendid. Then came the Bordeaux wines with dinner - the first course was fresh turmeric and lemon grass flavoured grilled Norwegian salmon and shrimp on beetroot confit paired with the Bad Boy 2007, Saint-Émilion, a 100% Merlot.
Heemanshu Ashar, BWC president, and other members of the 2011-12 Committee, Jay Bhow, Saanjna Subiah, Sanjay Roy and Abhijit Saha
