An iPhone application on French wines especially created for the Indian Market has been launched by Sopexa, on behalf of the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. "UncorkFrance is a fun, interactive application that unravels the sophisticated world of French wines for budding wine enthusiasts and gives them quick, easy answers to their wine needs," states a company release.
With the Indian wine enthusiast in mind who is also tech savvy and comfortable using an i-Phone, the application lets consumers discover main grape types, browse French wines by region, colour, body and price and also provides a quick, handy guide for food and wine pairings.
I am replacing my old iPhone with a 4G and and you can be sure this will be one of the first apps I download. Can you imagine eating out at a restaurant and being able to check the characteristics of the wine ordered? Best of all, the wine labels listed are available in the Indian market and as you get comfortable with the application you'll be able create wish lists of your own or recommend favourite wines and write wine reviews.
Loic Denneulin, Country Manager, Sopexa India, says, "Our main aim is to make UncorkFrance as relevant to the Indian consumer as possible." So the wine pairings will include spicy foods and the application will keep you updated about events and promotions.
