An evening with Zampa, a Wine Society of Delhi evening
On Friday, 6th February, Vallee di Vin with their Zampa range of three wines showcased their bouquet to the members of The Wine Society at a wine dinner at the Shangri-la Hotel. Paul Bailey, Zampa's experienced Australian wine maker specially came down from Nashik for the evening. Paul spoke about the wines and his philosophy of winemaking and how wines could be paired with Indian cuisine to a gathering of over 70.
Vivek Bhatt the Chef had put together a great menu of Sea Bass cooked in the Goan style paired with Zampa Chenin Blanc 2008, followed by mouth-watering Braised Lamb Shanks with Masala Rawa, Kababs and Gosht ki Tari. The dessert course was a Meethi (or Sweet) Medley of delicious Indian desserts exquisitely presented.
Lively discussions took place at most of the tables with Paul and the Zampa representatives who got positive feed back about their wines, especially the Zampa Rosé and the Zampa Syrah. The decibel level certainly went up as the wine went down! Altogether a great evening was had along with some good wine.
