Oberoi Patisserie and Delicatessen
What a transformation! First there was the Kandahar, a cavernous Indian speciality restaurant that served its purpose in its time but now there is The Oberoi Patisserie and Delicatessen here in Delhi. Approached by a light, translucent staircase at the lower ground floor, with over 4,000 sq ft of Bottochino marble and teak, the Deli is a delight for the senses.
Order a glass of wine or cup of hot chocolate (Rs 300) while you shop for gourmet specialities and feel good! 
If a little pecky, take a look at the small but representative menu for a standby before you repair to the more extensive offerings at Travertino or 360°.
The wines by the glass on the list include Moet and Chandon Brut Rs 1650, and among the reds, Mouton Cadet Rouge 2005 Rs 475, Louis Jadot Pinot Noir 2006 Rs 800, Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir 2006 Rs 600, Rosso di Montalcino, Campo ai Sassi 2005 Rs 725, Chinkara Cabernet Merlot 2003 Rs 540, and Chinkara Pavillon Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 and Pinot Noir 2004, both for Rs 900.
White wine lovers can choose from Domain Long Depaquit Chablis 2006 Rs 700, Jean Baptiste Karffekopf Vieilles Riesling 2004 Rs 650, Jean Baptiste Gewurztraminer, Reserve 2005 Rs 450, Louis Jadot Chardonnay 2006 Rs 800, Kendall Jackson Chardonnay 2006 Rs 600, Chinkara Chardonnay 2005 Rs 500 and Chinkara Pavillon Chardonnay 2003 Rs 900.

I visited the new Deli at the Oberoi and had a good look around. It's a space where you want to spend time but still a little intimidating in its pristine luxury, which makes you suspect the prices must be way higher than any Deli in town.

Not really Rati. Although your suspicion is certainly reasonable as the brand Oberoi is undoubtedly linked to luxury. It must be kept in mind that The Oberoi always offers an excellent value for money and the most superior quality at all levels. So may be a visit to their deli is definetly not cheap but when it comes to quality and value for money, you'll not walk out feeling cheated.
