Tragedy strikes India and the Oberoi & Taj Hotels

mumbai_taj.jpg Sommelier India extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family of those affected by the atrocious terrorist attacks in Mumbai. We hope that the hotels and restaurants and their brave personnel are able to recover quickly. The hospitality industry plays an important role in serving as an ambassador for the country.
By targeting it, the terrorists tried to strike in places where it would really hurt India and its place in the global economy. Our prayers are with the friends and families of those affected. We have the utmost confidence in the hospitality business and its ability to recover quickly, provide spectacular service to its guests and keep them safe from any kind of attack in the future. Share your thoughts about the tragedy with other readers here.

May I remind readers, that at times like this, the hospitality industry needs all the friends it can get, and that post trauma - properties are safer, and likely less expensive than prior. And service standards will be higher, too.

Let's rally round to give the whole industry hotel, restaurant and sightseeing etc the boost it will so badly need.

So let's visit and spend as soon as doors are opened.

Until the security system is highly made intelligent, the public outcries won't affect the government and its security measures... its not over yet

Where is Raj Thackeray and his 'brave' Sena? Tell him that 200 NSG Commandos from Delhi (NO marathi manoos! ALL north and south Indians!) have been sent to Mumbai to fight the terrorists so that he can sleep peacefully.

Foreigners interviewed as they were released spoke feelingly about the efficiency and presence of mind displayed by hotel staff. It was very heartening to hear them say repeatedly that India had reason to be proud despite the horror of it all.

We all Pakistanis our government, political and civil society extend our heartiest sympathy, condolence and favour to Indian people on this tragic and horrible incident. We have been victims of same attacks since long, so we know what kind panic and anger erupted among you. We hope too that Indian especially your media will act as very responsible part of world community as some attacks on Pakistan are very unfortunate.
