Wine lover, come fly with me
| Even if there were no other good reason to fly Emirates Airlines, the dream wines served on board would be reason enough. Emirates is an airline company in full expansion on an international scale. It has the youngest fleet of planes on the planet and has been awarded more than 300 worldwide distinctions for the quality of its services. |
On the Dubai to New York flight Emirates has selected the following legendary wines:
• Dom Pérignon Œnothèque 1985
• Le Montrachet, Marquis de Laguiche 2003
• A very fine selection of American wines from Napa Valley
• Taylor’s Vintage Port 1963
All of which should completely satisfy the difficult wine lover. Among Bordeaux wines, Emirates has managed to find three rare and cult wines:
• 1982 Château Latour, Pauillac: 100/100 from Robert Parker. The finest vintage after the 1961, which is now impossible to find.
• 1982 Château Cheval Blanc known as the finest vintage of this First Growth of Saint Emilion after the 1947, now also impossible to find.
• 1946 Château d’Yquem 1er Cru Sauternes. This late harvest vintage was hidden by the 1945 and1947 vintages, known as the best of Yquem. Which wine could pretend, after maturing for 62 years, to
be served onboard an airplane?
These last two wines were supplied to Emirates by the Bordeaux negociant, Pierre
Montagnac.
