Wine trainer Jacob Alexander interacted with guests, sharing information on wine tasting and wine etiquette and asking interesting wine-related questions for which wine bottles were given away as prizes. Alexander believes this is the best way for everyone to have fun. The interactions were engaging, enjoyable and informative.

Guests were served light eats and a choice of three Chantilli wines – Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and White Zinfandel followed by ladies crushing clusters of Shiraz grapes with their bare feet in an oak vat placed in the members enclosure. In the midst of it all the 1400m Chantilli Challenge provided its own share of excitement as unfancied Rejuvenite trained by Mansoor Shah was steered to victory by jockey K.P.G. Appu in a thrilling photo-finish.

The Chantilli Challenge aims at creating a strong bond between horse racing and Chataeu Indage’s popular Chantilli brand of wines that have received over 20 international awards from 1995 to 2008. Going by the response of the guests and spectators, it seemed a good time was had by all.
