A Kendall Jackson Tasting at the Enoteca, Oberoi

oberoi_kj2.jpgAt an exclusive tasting of Kendall Jackson wines at The Enoteca, The Oberoi, New Delhi, recently visiting General Manager for Asia, Jeff Cook, noted that wine was a natural beverage with food and not a drink that people consumed to get intoxicated but drank for the pure enjoyment of it. There was no doubt that the wines Mr. Cook had us taste fitted that description.
The Kendall Jackson Vintners Reserve Chardonnay and the Kendall Jackson Vintners Reserve Pinot Noir were most enjoyable.

The Pinot Noir, in particular paired exceedingly well with the Umbrian black winter truffle menu that Chef Tuomas had prepared at the adjoining Travertino. Risotto with Prawns and black truffles was followed by Pan seared snapper with black truffles, mashed potatoes and wild mushrooms.

Travertino's Chef Tuomas takes great pride in his work.

Although a difficult grape to cultivate and vinify, the delicate Pinot Noir is described as the drink of poets and artists. With red fruit characteristics such as cherries and strawberries, its beautiful perfume changes and becomes more seductive as you drink it. Moreover it can be paired as successfully with a salad as with a heavy main course. Premium wines can never be over produced, Jeff Cook observed, and as the demand for them increases so will their price but in Kendall Jackson wines you have “affordable luxury”.
