“Apéritif à la française” festival in Delhi

The Ambassador of France in India H.E. Mr.Dominique Girard inaugurated the “Apéritif à la française” festival in Delhi on June 1st, 2006. The festival which was organized by Sopexa, the Food and Beverage Marketing and Promotion Board of France, the French Embassy in India and the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries was held at 28 locations across the world at the same time.

During his inaugural address, H.E. Mr. Girard said “Apéritif à la française” is synonymous with a festive atmosphere, sharing and pleasure. This tradition, very common in France provides a wonderful chance to let the world rediscover the variety and simplicity of French food and drinks products.”

The company’s that were part of the Apéritif à la française were Castel Wines, one of the largest wine company in France, serving wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and Languedoc regions, Pernod Ricard, Sonarys Co-brands showing Rose D’Anjou and Bourgogne rouge among others, Elle & Vire dairy products (cream, butter, crème brulee and cheese - 12 varieties) Neuhauser viennoiserie (breads), Barnier olives, Fayel fois gras, raclette, fondue and saucisson.

Also present were Mohan Brothers with Antonin Rodet Burgundy wines, Sureshkumar & Co with Teisseire syrups and mixes, Chenab Impex with Borde mushrooms & berries, Delouis mustards and condiments, Indraprastha with D'Aucy canned fruits and vegetables, Oscar Kiwi, Bonduelle frozen vegetable, French Delices with crepes sweet and salted and Eurocave with wine cellars. They added to the whole effort of Sopexa in promoting the French food and wine in India.
