Lungarotti wines featured in The Wine Advocate
Robert Parker's newsletter, The Wine Advocate recently featured the 2000 Lungarotti San Giorgio Vino da Tavola Umbria and the 2001 Lungarotti Rubesco Rosso di Torgiano giving them 91 points and 87 points respectively. These wines are distributed by Sovereign Impex in India and are available in major hotels and restaurants across the country.
2000 Lungarotti San Giorgio Vino da Tavola Umbria: Rating: 91 points
The 2000 San Giorgio, a Sangiovese and Cabernet blend, powerful, dark in color, impressive in its notes of red and blackberry fruit, leather, and minerals, powerful and intense on the palate, and with a sizeable, authoritative finish. It will need a bit of additional bottle time, and will drink well from 2007 to 2018.

2001 Lungarotti Rubesco Rosso di Torgiano: Rating 87 points
Some of the best news coming out of central Italy in recent years is the comeback which is being staged by Lungarotti, an important player in the 1970s and 1980s before a period of drift set in. The 2000 wines are the best since 1985, and the 2001 vintage promises to be even better, as the 2001 Rubesco, the regular bottling, indicates in its fresh and elegant aromas of red berry fruit, fine continuity and length on the palate, and ripe, savory flavors. Already drinking well, it should continue to do so for another 3-4 years.
