The Bangalore Wine Club (BWC) hosted a first-of-its-kind food and wine event in Bangalore (and probably India) on 29th September, titled ‘The BWC Wine Crawl’. Over one evening, wine club members wined and dined in style across four participating restaurants at the hip and happening UB City, writes Club President, Aslam Gafoor, who put the evening together along with fellow Committee Members, Nina, Krish, Naozar and Alok.

BWC members indulged in a delicious four-course meal complemented with fine wines – however, with a difference! Across this fun evening, they visited four participating fine-dine restaurants – Shiro, Toscano, Fava, Tasty Tangles – and savoured wine with a signature dish, appetizer, starter, main course and dessert, from each place.
The evening started at Shiro with a chilled glass of Australian Hardys Chardonnay and the restaurant’s signature Dim Sums. After 45 minutes, the crawl moved to Jean Michel’s Toscano where members savoured an Italian Pinot Bianco with Terrine of Grilled Vegetables and Rucola Salad. A further 45 minutes up and members proceeded to Abhijit Saha’s Fava for the main course of Lamb Shank Tagine for the non-vegetarians and Spanakopita Stack for the vegetarians with a glass of the Italian Bertani Valpolicella. The concluding dessert round was at tasty Tangles with a glass of German Deinhard Beerenauslese.
All in all, everyone had a great time at this fun and unique evening. The BWC plans to make the Wine Crawl a regular feature in its annual calendar of events.
