Australia in free trade agreement talks with India?

australia_kangaroo1.jpg The import duties saga continues with the Economic Times reporting that the Australian government is in negotiations with India to reduce the import duties on wine. Currently, 1,80,000 cases are imported annually of which Australia has a 25% market share.

The Australian government is working on a free trade agreement with India in addition to directly helping Australian wine companies increase their market share.
We are all waiting for the day when the Indian government more directly can help the Indian wine producers internationally. Unfortunately Indian wine exports are too small for the government to play a significant role currently.
